THE RIVER OF LIFE IN YOU

It’s beneficial to realise that we are not as good as we think but also potentially far better than we imagine. We are always our best self when we take Christ our life as our foundation instead of living from a few Christian icons in a contract we think we have going with God. As the expression of Christ, we are the kind of Life-Givers that we can never be living from religion, churchianity or the law. In the latter state we may be adept at giving a Christian discourse, but we are never Life-Givers since we are not alive.
BETTER THAN BARGAIN RELIGION
Timothy Keller observed that, “Jesus is saying something like this to Peter: “Your identity was based so much on your own bravery and wisdom and goodness that my love for you seemed nothing more than wages that you earned. But now you’ve seen your sin—and turned to me—now your failure, plunged into my grace and forgiveness, will make you a leader. For who can speak into people’s lives better than someone who finally knows their own heart? Who can lead better than someone who is humbled by the grace of God and yet at the same time is affirmed by my free, gracious love?”
“The default mode of the human heart is to believe that it is strength that connects you to God, but the gospel says that it is weakness that connects you to God. Only to the degree that you see you are weak are you strong.” This is why ‘these legalisms are my life’ are so pathetic when compared to the incarnated Christ our life.
CHRIST FOR YOU AND IN YOU
A lived oneness with Christ is not an ideal that is outside us but the Reality who lives in us. To live the eucharist rather than dip our toes in the rite is to find contentment with ourselves in Christ’s love, be filled with sensitivity and love for other and exult in the variations of Everyday Life. Kingdom Life is not religious, but it is alive and furnishes us with the ability to love people, animals and the created landscape.
